Representatives of the Faculty of International Relations took part in the event “UN Office in Almaty: Partnership for a Sustainable Future”

    On February 13, 2025, a round table dedicated to the opening of the first United Nations office in Kazakhstan  was held in the conference hall of the library at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
   The event was organized by the Acting Director of the Pan-Gi Moon Institute at KazNU, Lyazzat Mukhtar, and the Director of the Academic regional resource center for information support about the UN at the Faculty of International Relations of al-Farabi KazNU, Delovarova Leila Fyodorovna. The honorary guest was Vlastimil Samek, a representative of the UN Department of Global Communications in Almaty.
   At the beginning of the meeting, the organizers and the honorary guest spoke about the UN’s activities in Kazakhstan and plans to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Organization.
  Following this, activists from the UN Information Center, Ayazhan Sakenova and Balnur Aitore, presented two video clips: one about the center’s work and the other about the opening of the office in the Kazakhstan Hotel.
    The event was open to all, providing an opportunity for each participant to share their opinion. Students from various faculties of KazNU, including journalism and history, took part in the discussion. During the session, students learned more about the center’s activities and UN projects aimed at sustainable development.
The event contributed to enhancing participants’ knowledge about global processes and strengthening interaction between the academic community and the United Nations.
