Amirkhan Yestayev is a qualified lawyer with many years of experience in law enforcement and public administration. He has held key positions in the prosecutorial system, anti-corruption agencies, as well as in the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
• 1998–1999 – Senior Prosecutor, Head of Department, Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan
• 1999–2000 – Head of Sector, State-Legal Department, Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan
• 2000–2002 – First Deputy to the Chief Military Prosecutor of the Republic of Kazakhstan
• 2002–2005 – Deputy Prosecutor, then First Deputy Prosecutor of South Kazakhstan Region
• 2005–2006 – Head of the Department for Combating Economic and Corruption Crimes for Akmola Region
• 2006–2009 – Head of the Departments for Combating Economic and Corruption Crimes for Atyrau Region and the city of Almaty
• 2009–2011 – Prosecutor of the city of Almaty
• Since 2014 – Adviser to the Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University
