An important and meaningful event took place at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. On September 12, 2025, a memorandum of mutual cooperation was signed between the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and KazNU, and the "Farabi Student Assembly" was officially established within the university.

The event was attended by a delegation led by Marat Azilkhanov, Deputy Chair of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, leaders of youth organizations from various regions of the country, experts in interethnic relations, volunteers, as well as young leaders invited from Central Asian countries.

During the meeting, KazNU Rector Jansseit Tuimebayev spoke about the significance of this initiative for youth education:
“KazNU today is not only a center of education and science but also an environment that nurtures civic responsibility, national consciousness, and patriotism among the younger generation. The newly established Farabi Student Assembly within the university will guarantee the vitality of these objectives. I am confident that this project will provide a new impetus to deepen social harmony, peace, and mutual understanding among ethnic groups,” said the university head.

Marat Azilkhanov, Deputy Chair of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, emphasized in his speech:
“This memorandum is a key guarantee of stability and public harmony in Kazakhstan. By working together with Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, we make a significant contribution to preserving and developing the cultures and traditions of the country’s diverse ethnic groups,” he stated.

During the event, Timur Zhumyrbayev, Chairman of the public association “Assembly of Youth,” introduced the chairperson of the newly formed student assembly at KazNU and outlined its goals and objectives.

The partnership under this memorandum represents a long-term relationship between the university and the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, and the creation of the student assembly marks a concrete and systematic step aimed at fostering a culture of peace among youth.
